Zen Luxe Med Spa is  happy to offer two treatments for hair loss that are effective and don’t rely on harsh chemicals or pharmaceuticals.

Our goal is to take away the worry of seeing lots of hair in the shower drain and help you enjoy the feeling of the breeze in your hair again.

If you’re losing hair, you may have already done enough research to know that the medical term for hair loss is alopecia. There are different types of alopecia, but the most common by far is androgenetic alopecia, which is sometimes called male pattern baldness — even though about 40% of people who have it are women.

An emotional issue

There’s an emotional toll that comes with hair loss that’s often left unconsidered, especially for men. According to the American Hair Loss Association, “Contrary to societal belief, most men who suffer from male pattern baldness are extremely unhappy with their situation and would do anything to change it.” Women, too, experience a great deal of emotional distress related to hair loss.

Two new treatments

We offer two treatments that are garnering excellent results among those of our patients suffering hair loss. The first is called microneedling and the second is platelet rich plasma (PRP) therapy.

Both of them can help with hair loss, but when they’re combined, you’re likely to see results that are pleasantly surprising. Here’s what you need to know about each treatment.

Microneedling

Microneedling harnesses your own body’s power to heal. A device that has tiny needles all over it is moved across your scalp, creating thousands of micro-wounds that are so small you’re unlikely to feel any discomfort.

These tiny injuries cause your body to deploy all of its healing capacity, including regenerating your hair follicles. This stimulation can lead to hair growth or hair thickening.

PRP Therapy

PRP is a bit more involved, but still takes advantage of your natural ability to heal. There are three steps to PRP therapy.

First, Injector Resha draws a small amount of your blood. Next, that blood is processed so that the various components are separated. Finally, a tiny bit of plasma is mixed with platelets to form a solution that we inject into your scalp.

The platelet-rich plasma contains growth factors and other healing proteins that stimulate your hair follicles and promote growth.

The combination

When microneedling and PRP therapy are combined, Jennifer essentially opens channels directly to your hair follicles so that the PRP can stimulate and heal your hair follicles, and most importantly, encourage hair growth. Your body’s healing response to the micro wounds acts like a turbo charge for the PRP.

Stem cells and Exosomes can also be mixed with the PRP and microneedling treatment to stimulate hair follicles to begin producing hair again and help older follicles get back into better shape and grow thicker hairs.
